General Opinions
At first, I was a little scared about the amount of activities / lectures and how to accommodate the college obligations.
In the end, everything went well with the organization and
the kindness of the coordinators made everything easier.
I think the amount of daily activities contributed to this feeling of immersion and focus on training, and I was very glad that I had the opportunity to do it even though I was at home.
I liked the division of training in these two moments:
theoretical with lectures and practical part with the young people, which made the program well balanced.
All lectures were very enriching, with friendly and engaging speakers and the interest remained high.
I got emotional by Mr. Maeda's lectures and stories from him,
as well as moments of reflection on "What kind of person I want to be?". All these experiences made me reflect a lot on my personal side, but also on what kind of leader I want to be and how to develop myself. About the practical part with young people, it was an incredible experience for me to have the opportunity to meet and talk with people from other nationalities and learn more about the different cultures.
Even in the online format, it was very interesting to see that it is possible to create real connections. In addition, all lectures and discussions were well thought out so that in the end we were able to structure an action plan.
My evaluation is totally positive! I'm very grateful to everything that I learned and to everyone I met in this training.
I'm definitely a new person, with more courage and passion to apply in my association.
First of all I want to thank JICA and all the collaborators for providing this training for the Nikkei community in South American countries. And my undying gratitude and admiration to Mr. Maeda, Mr. Yamanaka, Mr. Shimomura, Ms. Tomoko, Ms. Yoko, Ms. Azusa and all others involved, who dedicated themselves so much to help us and welcomed us in the best possible way.
I hope that more people have the opportunity to do this very special training.

Result of Training
My goal with the training was to learn how to encourage Seinen Bunkyo members to seek more responsibilities in the group. Previously, I thought that the lack of cultural-sports activities was the main reason for the lack of interest in activities of high responsibility.
However, during the training I learned about how to identify the source of problems and how a leader should act on these issues. I realized that the problem was actually in the way the leader and co-members relate to the members and the Bunkyo association.
In this way, I believe the training exceeded my expectations by showing how the leadership can use the tools they have to maintain the activities.
I think the reason I really enjoyed the training was because
this leadership knowledge can be applied in other areas of life besides the Nikkei community.
General Opinions
I believe the training content surprised me a lot. From the description of the course in the edital, I thought that the training would be practically focused on the practice of Yosakoi.
But now I understood perfectly and I was very pleased by the diversity of content offered.
The kindness of each of the organizers made the experience very positive from the start. I believe Sugio-san did a great job as a translator, very kind and patient with us. I really admire Mr. Maeda's work, his charismatic and creative way of thinking. I also think that Yoko-san, Yamanaka-san and Oguri-san did an excellent job taking care of the organizational part, always sending us the information’s about the training. I also really enjoyed participating in one of the Kochi IYEO sessions, helping them to evaluate the youth presentations.
I thank you for the opportunity to represent my association " Bunkyo Youth Committee " (CJB Seinen Bunkyo) and the Nikkei community in São Paulo-Brazil.
I hope to be able to still contribute in the future with the promotion of Japanese culture through these activities.
